Shuttle Racking System
A Shuttle racking system we designed, fabricated and installed for a wet tissue production factory, the high density storage and FIFO helped customer reduce the investment and run a smooth storage and delivery.
Shuttle racking is a semi-automated high-density storage system using battery-powered shuttles that move within rack channels to store/retrieve pallets. Operating on rails, the shuttles transport loads depth-wise (LIFO or FIFO), eliminating the need for forklift aisle access. Ideal for cold storage or homogeneous SKUs, it boosts storage density by 60% versus traditional racks. The system includes remote-controlled shuttles, guide rails, and buffer zones for loading. Capacities range from 500–1,500kg per pallet, with optional integration into WMS. Benefits include reduced labor, faster throughput, and minimized product damage. Requires leveled floors and regular shuttle maintenance.
